Richard Lee, MD

Interim Medical Director

Dr. Richard H. Lee is an ophthalmologist in Oakland, California and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Alta Bates Summit Medical Center-Oakland and Alta Bates Summit Medical Center-Berkeley. He received his medical degree from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

Margaret (Peggy) Liu, MD

Assistant Medical Director

Dr. Margaret P. Liu is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who joined the Pacific Vision Foundation community in 2012. She is currently the Medical Director of the Pacific Vision Surgery Center, Chief of the Cornea Service in the Department of Ophthalmology at CPMC, and Founder and CEO of the San Francisco Eye Institute.

Dr. Liu was born in Taiwan and grew up in New York where she trained at SUNY Downstate Medical Center before completing her Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at The Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins. Her expertise has led to national lecture invitations or paper presentations at conferences held by The Wilmer Eye Institute, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She has also been featured in several media outlets including Business Insider, MSN Lifestyle, and Bottom Line Health.

Dr. Liu balances her work in Ophthalmology with quality time spent with her family and friends at home or exploring, but usually eating. She especially loves watching her two little ones grow and taking the time to admire the world through their eyes.

Christina Wadsworth

Administrator

Christina embarked on her career in healthcare after earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Samuel Merritt University. Her journey into specialized nursing began with acceptance into the UCSF Periop 101 program, where she obtained certification in intraoperative nursing. She honed her skills at UCSF Medical Center, initially in the orthopedic and spine departments, and later in general surgery, gaining valuable experience in complex surgical settings.

Driven by a passion for leadership, Christina transitioned to the ambulatory surgery setting, starting at Hayes Valley Surgical Center. Here, she immersed herself in the unique challenges and rewards of outpatient surgical care. Seeking further professional growth, she moved to Pacific Vision Surgery Center, where she embraced a role as a nurse manager. Inspired by the center's mission and values, Christina deepened her leadership expertise.

Her career path continued to evolve as she joined Surgery Partners, initially as a Director of Nursing and later earning a promotion to Administrator. Throughout these roles, Christina demonstrated a commitment to operational excellence and patient-centered care. Ultimately, her dedication led her back to Pacific Vision Surgery Center, where she currently contributes to their mission of providing exceptional eye care.

Beyond her professional achievements, Christina enjoys recreational activities such as bowling, where she participates in a league during her free time.

Christina's career journey is marked by a blend of clinical expertise, leadership development, and a steadfast commitment to healthcare excellence, making her a valued leader in the field of surgical nursing and administration.
